East Carbon Trash Clean-Up

Image
I can say with a 100% certainty, East Carbon is one of the trashiest places in the state. Before my health deteriorated, every summer I would pick a spot in Carbon or Emery County and clean it up of trash and debris. The last time that I was able to do this I picked the road to the gun range at East Carbon. I had no clue at that time as to what I was getting into. I started at UT124 where the dirt road takes off to the gun range. By the time I made the first 300 feet, I already had made ten trips to the dump. The biggest and most item was beer bottles, mostly broken. Usually it only takes a day to clean up an area, but this road was proving to be a major difficulty. I had already spent a week and only got about a quarter mile. I started finding drug needles and decided that it would be best to end this. I then started at the junction of US6/191 and UT123 and started cleaning along sine the road. This soon had to stop with threats from COP Sam Leaonard. East Carbon is a strange sort of ...

East Carbon - How Does the Dog Catcher Get Paid

Image
That’s easy Sally, the dog catcher has many jobs rolled into one. One day she might be a city councilwoman, the next day a receptionist, and the next day a cop. With all these different jobs the dog catcher has Sally, this keeps other people from having jobs, which keeps the local job base only for friends and relatives. All the other city employees have multiple jobs too, helping to fight the American free enterprise system with applied Democratic socialism. Sally, it’s called nepotism and is part of the great economic system here in East Carbon City that is called Democratic Socialism. Understand Sally, That’s how non-production in a Democratic Socialism society works.  See Sally, the dog catcher like other city employees have multiple jobs and they all make multiple wages, multiple times. It’s like a great pyramid Sally, they are all at the top, and we’re all at the bottom. Think of Am-way, Sally.              ...

Small Town Friday Night - When Fast Cars Ruled

Image
Who remembers the good ole days? I’m talking about Price, Utah when main street had four lanes and angle parking, Friday night drag racing from light to light, the quarter mile on airport road where someone with a CB radio had to watch for the cops to warn everyone that they were on their way, I’m happy to say that I was a part of that iconic period. My first muscle car was a 1971 Dodge Charger RT with a 440 automatic. Basically stock, but still very quick. My second car was a 1971 Plymouth GTX 453, 4 speed with a tunnel ram dual 850 cfm carbs, and much more too numerous to mention. This car was very quick, compared to my charger. I remember some of the other fantastic street cars from the time, I won’t name any names, but a red Mustang, an AMC Hornet, a beautiful 442 Oldsmobile, another 442 Oldsmobile, 2 - 1955 Chevrolet BelAirs, a gorgeous 73 Dodge Challenger, a 67 Dodge Coronet Hemi, a 69 Plymouth Duster 340 the only car ever to beat my 440 Charger, a gorgeous 72 Dodge Charger 340, ...

Landowners Who Purposely Block Off Public Lands

Image
There’s one thing that really peeves me, and that is the private land owners who will purposely buy land in such a manner as to block off large tracks of public land from public use, solely for their own private use only. This type of a land grab by the greedy land owner is not only wrong ethically, but morally too. Any such land-locked public BLM or State ground should come with automatic access by an easement, for the general public. There are literally millions of acres of public lands that are land-locked, inaccessible because they’re surrounded by private property. In a recent Supreme Court case, private land owner lost against hunters that were corner crossing from one corner of BLM land to another corner of BLM land, by using a special latter. The land owner cried foul, the hunters cried fair, and so did the courts, totally legal. It’s high time for people to fight getting back their rightful land.

SERDA, a Scam or Asset?

Image
What more can be said about a bad job gone bad. First off I want people to know that I’m a handicapped person with spinal cord damage, and also on hospice with stage D heart failure. I don’t need this crap happening in my life at this time. We let SEALAG (Southeastern Association of Local Governments), which is now called SERDA (Southeastern Regional Development Agency) rebuild our roof and install eves which took over two year to complete the job, which should of took no more than three months max. The “aka” contractors used to do the work on our home were no more than has-beens from the different Helper City bars showing up whenever they felt like it, working for maybe an hour or two then leaving. Happy hour was the name of the game here. Finally after fall set in, I had to set up a video camera to document the contentious and overly lax attitude of the workers. All used old barn wood, and 2x4’s from old pallets was used for the eves, while being charged for new wood. ...

East Carbon City, Utah - No Change After Election

Image
I told myself that if this issue with the East Carbon City Treasurer Jason Jogensen and his publicly published and transmitted fabricated lie of my sister and I being Married and having sex, on the public facebook group forum “Letter to the Editor and other news from Carbon County Citizens”, would get round filed, or even swept under the carpet, that I would definitely do something legally about it. It has been months later and finally after five emails sent to East Carbon City Mayor Carolyn Abeyta, I finally received a response not only from her but also from the city attorney Christian Bryner, too. Just as we thought, they both stated that no more would be said about the incident and it would be handled in-house only. Well, mayor Abeyta, and city attorney Bryner, it’s not over, not by a long shot. If this would’ve happened to a private citizen, it would be called defamation and I believe that’s the legal title for it, right Mrs Abeyta, and Mr Bryner? Ring a bell? What about lik...

East Carbon (Columbia) Coke Ovens

Image
The old coke oven historic site should be cleaned up, organized, and preserved as much as possible for future generations, especially the ones in east Carbon. There’s a major liability problem looming for not only the property owner, but the city too, with kids and generally all people climbing on them, with a possibility of either a nasty fall or a cave-in happens with someone standing on top of an already half decayed oven. Another problem is the many piles of bricks and debris lying around creating an excellent habitat for rattle snakes, black widow spiders, and other pests and vermin. These coke ovens have a great historic value to East Carbon, along with the old Carbon County Railway Depot, and out buildings. Just food for thought.

Dash Cam Trip Wellington, UT to Range Creek Wildlife Management Area

Image
This will be a dash cam trip starting from Wellington, Utah (Millers Travel Center) to the RCWMA (Range Creek Wildlife Management Area) on top of the Book Cliffs above East Carbon, Utah. The trip will start out on US6/191, then turn left onto UT123 to East Carbon to Whitmore Canyon, then right to Water Canyon to the top of the Book Cliffs. From there we'll go to the gate of the RCWMA and on to the other side.

Train Chasing

Image
Chasing trains can be an exciting profession, hobby, or whatever you want to call it, as with any other photographic or videography subjects. Some of my most favorite subjects to photograph or video are clouds, sunsets, scenery, trees, old buildings, and especially trains. Some of my favorite local areas for train photography and videography include, Colton, Helper, Price, Wellington, East Carbon, Green River, Crescent Junction (Brendel), Moab, and Thompson. Now that the coal trains have pretty much stopped running except for the unit train from Colorado, train watching has died down quite a lot on this line. Other than two oil tanker unit trains, a few locals to East Carbon now and then, railroading has slowed way down in our area. Some of my favorite locations for videoing is always the Union Pacific local to East Carbon at Mounds in Emery County, and at the entrance to the Republic Landfill (ECDC) in East Carbon. These are two excellent locations to get a great video. The chan...

Does Government Deal From a Dirty Deck

Image
There’s an old idiom that’s been around the block more than once that states, no matter how hard you try “you can’t beat city hall”. This may hold water for life on earth, but what about the afterlife, the period when we’re all waiting for God’s final judgment to take place, when he opens the book of life to the chapter containing you. Is he going to find you playing with a deck of cards with five aces or four? Not being judgmental, but I would suppose a vast majority of politicians from the national level clear down to the local level who have been dealing politics with five aces are going to be in for a big surprise come judgment day. Other idioms they use to justify themselves are, “What he or she doesn’t know, won’t hurt them”, “The buck stops with me”, “Tell them BS, not facts”. What happened to government by the people, and for the people? Apparently the people referred to in our Constitution, are only the ones in government only, and the others are?

Republic (ECDC) Landfill Local Returning to Helper

Image
Union Pacific Local Republic (ECDC) Landfill Train (empty) heads back from East Carbon to the Union Pacific Helper yard. This video was taken at the bridge crossing at Grassy Trail Creek. Lead Engine is Union Pacific number 4112 an EMD - SD70M, followed by Union Pacific number 8157 a GE - ES44AC-H, and finally Union Pacific number 5631 a GE - B39-8, pulling an empty train to Mounds and then on to Helper.

SuperBowl Halftime Flop With Bad Booger

Image
Was this 2026 Super-bowl half time show a success? I guess that depends on how far down the bad bunny rabbit hole you would dare to venture. Politically, it was a big flop. Trying to bring a US game onto a world stage, that no other country gives a damn about, was an already dead gamble. You would of thought that the NFL would have learned, from the political woke one world order NBA debacle from 2021, but apparently they needed to find out for themselves. What were they thinking, no English, countries that don’t even play football, and all in a one world order theme. Something that could only be manufactured in California.

East Carbon City, Bias, Nepotism, and Conflict of Interest

Image
As of January 5, 2026, East Carbon has a new Mayor, Carolyn Abeyta, one new Councilwoman Rakele Palmer, and one new Councilman Grant Neath, replacing David Avery, Don Logston, and Liz Ferguson. Will there be change? I seriously doubt this very much. I expect the same exact status-quo to carry on until change actually happens. The left wing localized ruling class will continue in power as long as the vast majority of the remaining citizens of ECC continue keeping their heads buried in the ground, by not voting. I predict the next four years to be null and void, as in previous years. Does nepotism and conflict of interest Utah State Code §67-16-9 ring a bell here, our new mayor being married to Councilman Chuck Abeyta should ring it loudly. We still have Jesse Stewart, a police officer also serving as a City Councilman Utah State Code §67-16-9 . Even previous Councilman Phillip Holt at the time was also serving as a police officer for East Carbon City Utah State Code §67-16-9 . ...

East Carbon Utah Hit With Outbreak of Diarrhea of the Mouth

Image
A serious outbreak has occurred in the small town of East Carbon, located in southeastern, Utah, of diarrhea of the mouth. Officials have located the source affected to the local city governments cult following group, of witches, gossips, backstabbers, liars, hypocrites, city councilmen, and employee's. Doctors have stated that one possible cause of this terrible outbreak of diarrhea of the mouth, was that these people had a serious case of shit-for-brains, while some was completely missing the organ. We contacted the local East Carbon cult leader, Bronco Bill of the cults witches division for comment, but refused comment before flying off.

A Parodical Look at East Carbon City

This is a parody, a comical sarcastic side of East Carbon City as a whole or in the hole, you decide. With all the crazy things happening with East Carbon City Government, I thought that a breath of fresh air was in order for you.

Political Paradise East Carbon Style

Image
Whatever happened to “we the people” to all elected officials in the US who are supposed to be representing “we the people”. Apparently phrases like, this have turned into nothing more than just plain ole junk grammar, worthless idioms without meaning, civic non-importance, and an absence of accountability. Our new Mayor Carolyn Abeyta here in what the typical East Carbon local would call paradise, has blown me off again for the third time, in asking for an update of a complaint filed against East Carbon city treasurer, Jason Jorgensen. I have the unanswered emails (all of them) un-returned phone calls always with the same ole cliché response, “she just left”. If you don’t want to talk to an ECC citizen, just tell me to get, and I will get. I’ll get a lawyer. What about all those campaign promises, spouted out of the mouth of candidates during the recent election, like total transparency, more citizen involvement, and city officials that care for the citizens? It’s all a part of ...

What the Inside of a Hardrock Mine Looks Like

Image
Ever wonder what it looks like inside a hard-rock mine? This video will give you a feeling of what you would see and encounter. If you ever get a chance to actually see this in person, remember that different dangers are always present, like black-damp, complete and total darkness, sudden down shafts that can go for hundreds of feet, vermin of all types, animals like deer, bobcats, and even cougars, just to name a few. Always remember, "when in doubt, stay out".
